A wooden chest in the form of the traditional Uzbek sandiq, in which a bride's dowry and the family's finest textiles were once kept. Its lid and sides are covered with relief carving, carved by hand by Uzbek masters. Today it is a striking piece for storing jewellery, textiles or keepsakes, or simply for display.
